There is no denying that TikTok is wildly popular in America. But its detractors claim that the user data it collects could be a national security risk if it somehow leaves American soil (where it’s currently housed) and makes its way to the Chinese government by way of its Chinese owner ByteDance.
In response, Congress just passed a law demanding that TikTok either sell itself to an American company or face an outright ban. TikTok has nine months to comply, which gives it and its 170 million American users (including 7 million small businesses) time to craft a plan to keep TikTok alive in America.
Was Congress right to intervene? We want to know what you think. As always, results will be used to brief members of Congress. Your participation gives us a voice in Washington. Thank you!
I dont use TicTok and have no problem with it being restricted since we know that China will use it to spread fake news. We don't need more lies spread especailly during an election year where we have all the Trump lies to deal with.
